Scene:
Couple gets pregnant. Baby showers happen. So many people love you. You get all this STUFF!
And next...baby's here, and you somehow need MORE stuff!
Baby grows. Some call him a toddler. "Toddlers" don't need bottles (and certainly not EVERY level of Dr. Brown's nipples!), or jumperoos, or excersaucers that you try to return to the neighbors who so kindly let you borrow but don't want back!
And let's not even get started on clothes, blankets, burp clothes...
Where do you store it all? How do you store it all? If you've got answers, this Momma needs to know!

For things I want to keep (clothes, blankets, toys, etc), I use empty diaper boxes stacked in baby's closet for storage (so the boxes are about the same size). We keep the exersaucer, bouncy chair and swing in the corner of an extra bedroom.
For stuff to get rid of, either offer it to another new mom to "borrow", or to Goodwill, Freecycle or Craigslist!
Happy organizing! Just do 15 minutes as a time and it won't seem so overwhelming. :)
Oh, also, you can label the boxes with an index card taped to the side that shows do you don't have to dig through all of them to find the newborn sized socks when baby #2 rolls along!
We put all of the clothes still in good condition in storage containers according to size. All of the baby equipment was placed in the attic and covered with garbage bags the best we could. All bottles were put IMO a grocery bag and stores in a cabinet. We threw away all the nipples and just bought new nipple when we had our second baby. Sorry for the typos. For some reason my phone will not let me correct them.
Totes. Lots & lots of totes. Labeled well. Take apart the big stuff (if you can) cover it with trash bags or whatnot & store it in the attic. Don't get rid of anything unless you absolutely know you wouldn't use it or know you want a knew one for sure. Subsequent children are much cheaper if you do this.
I am using totes... the problem is getting the filled and stored in the attic!! I usually start to fill one, Kate empties it, and then I try to find all the clothes she pulled out (and each shoe so they are in the same container!) so I can store it, haha! The "big stuff" is all in an extra closet, but I did take most of it apart. Diaper boxes definitely come in handy at our house, too!
I bought the big clear plastic container from wal-mart/target and just put it all in the attic. The only things I gave to goodwill were the ones that neither girl used at all. But I just organized by size and keep it in those containers and it works great. The bottles and nipples I put in a container also and have them stored in the wash room.
Don't store... consign! Make some money to buy the new toddler stuff. Or do like your neighbors did and bless a mommy to be with lots of hand me downs!
