DIY "God Made You" Subway Art

When I came across this pin, I knew that it would be a project on which I'd follow through. I love the idea of giving our children a visual reminder of who they are and who God created them to be. I made this for W's room quite some time ago, and perhaps there's an argument that I cannot know just who he'd be at such a young age. I beg to differ as their little personalities shine early. We came up with this list, and I love how it turned out.

I followed the directions from the original site here, but it went a little something like this:

1. Create print in Picnik (now I'd use Picmonkey). This was the hardest part for me as it's sometimes really difficult to grab text/pictures and move around. If you have Adobe Illustrator access (or maybe Pixelmator-- which the hubs promises to teach me someday), I'm guessing that's a better bet.  If you aren't sure how to create in Picmonkey, Google it! I'm certain there are tutorials out there, and if not, let me know!

2. Ask husband how to manipulate the ratios to print to the size of your canvas. (Remember, English teacher. Writing, reading, words, words, words. The whole numbers thing left my brain after freshman year of college.)

3.  Save image (in appropriate size) and send to Walgreens or printing place of choice. Walgreens happened to have a sale, so that's where my money went!

4. Follow steps on original post for painting canvas and glueing. AND she's got an etsy shop, so if you aren't in the market to DIY, pay a visit!

Excuse the wall coloring in this picture. The Sheriff's room has terrible lighting thanks to the black out curtains.  I think this print captures this guy perfectly:
