Rubber Ducky First Birthday -- The Decorations

It's official! He's one! Babycenter.com's emails now tell me what my "toddler" is up to; I can't get the kid to crawl for anything; he'll just walk; I'm one tired Momma from a great birthday weekend!

The Sheriff wasn't the only one quacking all day. I loved the ducks everywhere! I would have done more if I had the time and wanted to spend even more the money. So the big day? This is how we waddled:

Le desserts!
(Be sure to notice the banner that I made without, yes without, any sort of cutting machine. It was me, several nap times, and ye ole scissors!) I did get my banner idea here.  We'll take a look at the desserts over the week, so check back in for some close-ups and recipes.

Our oh-so-easy kitkat cake. Again, more to come with that.

I found so much blue and yellow this summer at the Dollar Store and in Target's dollar section. Score! And I was super excited to tie in one of The Sheriff's favorite reads.

Savory snack table. I really wish I had great close-ups of some of the ducky touches, but there really wasn't time for that! Damn you last minute needs! But we'll talk my catchy duck phrases later.

One of my "nooks." See that empty vase behind the picture frame? It was supposed to have flowers, but who has time for that the morning of a party with bunches of relatives in town! (Oh yea, and glad that another favorite book made its way to the decor.)

On the wall above what's posted in the previous pic. (Sorry we don't have a great pic of this area.)

Nook by the door.

Our favor bags had some shaped sponges, bubble gum, bubbles, and of course, a rubber duck!

More details coming throughout the week (with recipes as promised). It was such a blast to put together and even more fun to enjoy! Thanks to all of our family and friends who not only showed up, but helped a ton!

PS--If you are interested in the banner and/or signs, email me. I am more than happy to talk about sending your way!
