Getting Fall Ready

Fall is here. Well, was here. Then it left. And we are back to 90 degrees here in South TX. Bummer.

BUT.... it's coming again on Thursday we hope, and I can't wait for a Halloween weekend with a bit cooler temps, yummy (but dairy and soy free) chili, and our first candy holiday with Shrimp. We started the Fall festivities this past weekend with a visit to the pumpkin patch. Sort of.

I've never been to a pumpkin patch before and expected vines, dirt, pathways through mounds of gorgeously orange pumpkins. Those must exist somewhere, but the one at the church practically around the corner was not quite what I had imagined. However the key there is right around the corner.

So we did get some pictures of the little guy, and while the setup was a little disappointing to me, he didn't seem to mind.

The church also had some sort of festival going on after their Sunday services so there was liturgical dancing, hot dogs, face painting, and a hayride. We were just there to pose with the orange globes though. We did come home with a nice one for carving and a runt pumpkin for the Shrimp.

Although it was upper 80s, the pumpkins were arranged on wood pallets (sp?), we couldn't take all of the pictures we wanted to because the majority of the crowd was watching an interpretive dance, the Shrimp decided to spit up all over his outfit, and we couldn't partake in all of the events, I think it was a successful first for this family. See the evidence below.

We took the pumpkins off the pallets and made our own "patch"--blanket included.

Greatest baby ever!

Love...love...love this picture, but does anyone know how to photoshop flyways?

This one makes me smile. I can see him as a teenager going "moooo-oooom" when I try to hug him in front of his friends.
That last caption wins the award for longest ever.
